Too much stupid cold medication

I have been taking a decongestant with pseudoephedrine. I know that this decongestant has horrible effects on my mind when I take it for a few days in a row. I am feeling really, really anxious and weird and loopy and I am writing this down so I remember it and I do not take too much of this decongestant in the future.

I miss my father.

Not a normal reaction I’ve had to it. I do love sudafed (the real stuff) for a true decongestant need. Maybe you’re overtired or shouldn’t take it any longer! There are a few other things that can work without those side effects I’m sure. I’m sensitive and allergic to lots of meds, so if I have reactions like that, they go in the NO pile! Hope you feel better soon.

I miss my mom…she passed 7.5 years ago.

Thanks Misifusa. Mel, my baby is also almost 9 months now! Sudafed contains pseudoephedrine, a stimulant drug used to make crystal meth. WIkipedia says it’s known to cause insomnia and anxiety. It definitely causes both for me. I haven’t found another drug that works, unfortunately, and the problem is that having my nose closed also causes anxiety…ah well.

I know the side effects, and just because they are “stated” doesn’t mean they are “normal”! Which is why I said you clearly don’t need to take it! I can take it just fine, however I don’t because we are still nursing! She just started table foods about 2 weeks ago at dinner only (anything soft and easy to chew with 4 teeth). Can’t have any meds that dry up my supply, so no sudafed! Ironically, I have anxiety already so it’s good that it doesn’t irritate it when I do get to take it.
